April 2021 – Online SCA Roasting Course (Online)
Apr 12 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

The online version of the SCA Roasting (Foundation and Intermediate Combo) Course is the best way to handle the theory while respecting social distancing and minimising travel and accommodation costs.

Donovan McLagan from Cabal Coffee Roasters in Port Elizabeth is an AST accredited with the SCA for this course and he will host you via Microsoft Teams over a period of four days (generally two consecutive Mondays and Wednesdays) from 16h00 to 18h00. If you cannot connect to the live theory session/s, you will have access to the recording for a limited time.

The theory will be followed by one mandatory practical day to be hosted at Sevenoaks Trading in Johannesburg, Cabal Coffee Roasters in Port Elizabeth or at an affiliate in Kynsna as arranged.

This course is on offer to our customers and anyone who may be interested in improving their roasting proficiency. You are ready to attend this training if you are part of the industry, have a firm knowledge of basic roasting skills and have access to a roaster. Learn about the roasting process, including roast cycles, roast levels, identifying defects, physical changes beans undergo during the process, as well as workspace management and lean production.

The cost of this Combo course is R8,500.00 (incl VAT) largely due to the Euro Rand exchange rate and requires students to undertake an online exam within 21 days.
Upon passing, students receive their international certification, which is of great value especially to contract roasters.

Please contact Paulien for more information or to join the next session.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
