Day 1 – Learn about green coffee origins, coffee processing methods and how they impact the final cup, grading and roasting.
Day 2 –  Engage in cupping different origins, blending and finally brewing in different forms/methods.
 
The training covers everything from history, growing, processing, shipping, roasting and brewing of coffee. The first day is mostly theory, whereas the second day is hands-on practical with roasting, blending, cupping and brewing.
 
We are still limiting our classroom sizes to six (6) students to ensure Covid safe practices are adhered to, therefore please book and pay promptly as seats cannot be reserved.

Recordings are available for a limited time should you miss one or two sessions.
 
Practical1 Day Practical training is mandatory and must be completed before writing the Intermediate exam
Practical Dates: Either the 4th or 5th of November 2021 in Johannesburg, North Riding (alternative dates and venues can be discussed for Knysna and Gqeberha)

Programme:
Learn about the roasting process, including roast cycles, roast levels, identifying defects, physical changes beans undergo during the process, as well as workspace management and lean production.
Online exams are required for both the Foundations and the Intermediate modules and upon passing, students receive their international certification, which is of great value especially to contract roasters.
 
We encourage anyone who is part of the industry, has a firm knowledge of basic roasting skills and has access to a roaster, to attend this training and advance their roasting skills.

2-day training course @ R3,100.00 (incl VAT)

This includes snacks and a cooked lunch as well as a Sevenoaks Trading Certificate of attendance.

This is the perfect starting point or a great refresher if you already have some coffee knowledge and doing the course helps refine your focus.

It’s a two day course presented by one of our Q Graders and coffee expert Nicodemus Nabakwe in Johannesburg from 9am to 4pm.
